Lorrie Anne Monte, PhD, MS, MPH, CHES

Dr. Lorrie-Anne Monte is the Counselor Education Fieldwork Coordinator and an Assistant Professor at Western CT State University. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science degree in Counseling and a Master of Public Health degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She also has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from UCONN. She loves to learn and is extremely passionate about personal and professional development!!! She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Lorrie-Anne was a Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence-Ashoka Changemaker Fellow for two years. She strongly believes in being of service to others and is a Past President and Board Member with the Connecticut School Counselor Association and a Board Member with the Connecticut Association for the Gifted. Dr. Monte was a School Counselor at Naugatuck High School before her current position at WCSU. At the high school, she was the advisor for Naugatuck Youth Leaders, which was a social emotional service learning program dedicated to spreading kindness throughout the district and borough.
