Laurel Brandon, PhD

Laurel E. Brandon is a postdoctoral researcher at the Renzulli Center for Creativity, Gifted Education, and Talent Development. She was an elementary school gifted specialist for six years, five of which were in Title 1 schools. She has conducted research and presented sessions about creativity and enrichment pedagogy at national and international conferences. She has worked on a research team led by with Joseph Renzulli that developed a distance learning course in gifted and talented education for Arkansas. She is a co-author of the parent rating scale Things My Child Likes to Do (2nd edition). Her research interests include enrichment pedagogy, creativity, interest and talent development, and positive psychology, and her doctoral dissertation examined teachers’ and students’ perceptions of school-based opportunities for student creativity.
